Old-World Craftsmanship
Hand techniques learned caring for classic wooden yachts, applied to every boat — from vintage hulls to modern fiberglass.
Our Story
What started as a small crew hand-detailing classic wooden yachts on the Mystic River has grown into a mobile detailing company built for South Florida's boaters — without losing the old-world attention to detail we started with.
How We Started
Bersenn Marine got its start in Mystic, Connecticut — a town where wooden boatbuilding and old-world maritime craft aren't history-book stuff, they're the neighborhood trade. Working the docks near Mystic Seaport, we learned to care for classic sailing yachts and heirloom runabouts the slow way: by hand. Hand-rubbed varnish. Painstaking teak brightwork. The kind of patient, detail-obsessed care that a hundred-year-old wooden hull actually deserves.
Word travels fast on a small harbor. Before long we were caring for everything from restored antique wood boats to modern fiberglass cruisers — but always with that same by-hand, no-shortcuts approach.
There was just one problem: New England boating season lasts maybe five months a year. Our clients wanted that same level of care year-round, and the boating world's biggest, busiest, sunniest playground was calling. So we made the move.
Today, Bersenn Marine is based in Miami, bringing that Mystic-bred craftsmanship to a coastline that's on the water 365 days a year. Same hands-on techniques. Same obsession with the details. Just a lot more sunshine.
